Expedia.com home of deceptive double talk Ever read that 20 page fine print when you pay with a credit card? Me either. Especially when they make you click on multiple links to see all the details.
Expedia ripped me off for almost $500.
On the main part of the checkout page I was reassured by 'never a fee to change your reservation'... little did I know buried in hotel rules (a link I had to click on) was a critical detail: Non Refundable.
Now I've heard of non-refundable air plane tickets but a reservation for SUPER 8?
Why spend money with a company like this!?

American Express - not so real consumer protection American Express is the card to have if you don't want to get ripped off right?... WRONG!
They did NOTHING despite TWO transaction disputes to prevent Expedia and Super 8 for taking me for almost $500.
American Express costs me more to use, costs me more to accept, and gives little value added benefits over my other credit cards so why have one or accept them?
Not any more!
